Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is a British-American musician and sitarist. She's the smallest woman and was the first person to receive an official British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Shakar, who is just a emerging singer on Indian Sitar, is Anoushka. She is both the daughter and pupil of Ravi Shankar. She was born 1982 in London. The first few years of her life included a period of time between London and New Delhi. When she arrived in New Delhi, she made her debut at just thirteen years of age. She then moved into Encinitas CA, where she received the High School diploma with honors in 1999. Anouskha even though she is just an teen, has enjoyed an extremely successful recording and performing career. She is often seen performing with her dad and has done so for many years. In 1998, she debuted her first solo album Anourag. In 2002, she debuted her Grammy Nominated Live At Carnegie Hall. She has performed at most important venues across the world. Her career extends beyond music. In 2002, she wrote a book entitled Bapi The of My Life. of My Live this is an illustrated biography that gives a special honor to her late father Ravi Shankar. In 2003 she starred as an Bharat natyam young dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka's career is still developing and she'll continue to do many great things in the coming years. Anoushka spent a lot of traveling between London and Delhi throughout her childhood. Later, she moved to California to attend high school. at the age of nine she began her studies in music with her father. Her first performance with the Sitar took place in her 75th birthday celebration in Delhi just four years later. Anoushka gained a lot of experience by touring across the globe along with the father. She performed at Carnegie Hall in her teenage period, as well as recorded for George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. She was the first woman to be awarded the House of Commons Shield, given by the British Parliament in recognition of her talent and musicianship in music and the Asian Arts.
